This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a teacher, it is important for me to stay current and relevant for my students. In today’s digital age, both real and fake information is readily available. Students often access news through social media platforms like Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok, which can make it difficult to distinguish fact from fiction. A deeper understanding of current events broadens students’ worldviews and helps them develop critical thinking skills. Exposure to real-world topics builds empathy, compassion, and a sense of civic responsibility.

Time for Kids offers age-appropriate, trustworthy content that keeps students informed while encouraging them to think analytically and ask questions.

I want to help my students stay connected and be prepared for the demands of the 21st century. Part of that preparation includes giving them opportunities to engage with what’s happening in their community and around the world. It is essential that they learn to seek out reliable sources and understand the importance of fact-based information.

By using Time for Kids in the classroom, I can help my students connect with meaningful content, spark their curiosity, and foster a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
