This project would allow students to have the option of standing around a desk for group work or pedaling while working in my classroom. The adjustable desk and portable exercise bikes will create an environment where many students can use them throughout the class period. I know my students enjoy movement and sitting in the different chairs available in my room.
Pedaling will allow students who like to fidget to move without distracting others.
Furthermore, this project will allow me to put interesting, new novels in my students' hands so they can get excited about reading. The novels I have chosen are newer releases with bright, updated covers that will get the attention of my students or replacements for worn-out favorites. Getting new books allows me to keep them hooked on an author or series while fostering a love for reading. Due to limited funds, teachers do not receive assistance in purchasing novels for their classrooms. This project will allow me to purchase books to meet all my students' needs and interests. I can't wait to see my students exercising their minds and bodies!
