Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Pre-K will be learning about exercise this year. I am so excited to cover this topic and all the different equipment and exercises we can learn about. I would like to turn our Dramatic Play area into an exercise gym. We are an elementary school that does not have a fitness room with equipment the children could see and touch. Taking a class trips to a gym is difficult with my littles because of car seat availability. I thought if I could bring a gym to them it would be fun and exciting.
Before my students get ready for seat work and fine motor skills development, they must get through certain gross motor skills development.
I believe that the items in my cart will help in many different ways in laying down a firm foundation for future schoolwork. The small Pilates ball, dumbbells for toddlers, a Sensory Stepping Stones Obstacle Course, yoga wooden dice/cards, fun fitness dice, yoga mats, kids weight sets, kettle bell set, barbell weight set and balance stepping stones would all help with muscle coordination in sequence, balance, focus, hand-eye coordination, definition of personal space(which is crucial for the littles) and the introduction to the concept of weight.
Having different type of kid friendly gym equipment will give them the sense of being in the gym and help them learn how to use the materials safely.
The children, especially the boys in the class, are always talking about their muscles and how big they are going to be. My littles are the best and I want to give them a fun learning experience with your help.
