My Students

Our school is a great example of what can be done when a committed community rallies behind their local school. We are committed as a school to ensuring that all students learn and grow. Our staff, families, and community realize that to reach a diverse group of learners we need to be innovative!

Our students come from various backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common, an intense thirst for knowledge.

They take advantage of any and all opportunities to learn and grow. Although some live in poverty, they refuse to let anyone's preconceived notions define them. Anyone who has spent a day with our scholars realizes that they are determined and focused, and nothing will stop them from reaching success in the present and in the future!

My Project

A significant amount of research supports the benefits of sustained aerobic exercise for optimal brain development. Research demonstrates that when children engage in sustained aerobic exercise, learning is enhanced due to hormones released that act as 'fuel to the brain'.

I wish to establish an exercise routine, prior to phonics, reading and math, each day, to enhance learning and close the achievement gap for the students in my Title I school.

The cycle machines will be set up in my class. My students will use them as a center. I will ask them questions whilst they cycle twice a day.
