This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Next year’s group of 5th graders is just around the corner, and I’m dreaming of a classroom that feels like a second home, a place where students feel safe, seen, and inspired to learn. To help make that dream a reality, I’m asking for a few key items that will bring comfort, organization, and creativity into our space. A cozy rug will give us a spot to gather for discussions and community time, while a rotating bookshelf will let me spotlight books that match their interests and backgrounds. A drawer organizer cart, caddies, and a pencil sharpener will help keep our supplies in reach and our learning flowing smoothly. Markers and printer ink will allow me to create colorful, engaging materials, and a classroom calendar will help us build routines together. And yes, a comfy teacher chair for all those hours of lesson prep and reading aloud! Every item on this list is chosen with love and purpose, and with your support, I can give my students a classroom that truly feels like theirs.
