As a third year art teacher, I hope to infect my students with a passion for art. I love art, and want students to see the many opportunities that art opens for them. Art can benefit students emotional growth as well as intellectual growth.
I teach skills to help every student become an artist.
I want students posting up artwork instead of selfies or outside with a sketchbook and not a weapon. By embracing creativity, I want to teach skills that open up a lifetime of learning.
My Project
As a new teacher, I need books that help me create lessons that help my students be successful when creating art. I want to build confidence so they are not afraid to draw in my class.
I need good resources to give me a variety of lessons to reach students of all different levels of skill.
I use many online resources, however I need materials that students can look at in class, and I can use in my presentations. I teach 23 classes a week, ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. These materials will give me fresh new ideas to help my students become more engaged in my class.
