My Students

My 1st graders are the best! They are learning so much each day and are so excited to come to school. I get non stop hugs and smiles all day. I try and make our classroom an environment that everyone feels safe in. I absolutely adore my students and they are the reason I get up and want to come to school everyday. I love watching them learn and grow. Teaching is hard and exhausting especially when you teach 1st graders. Sometimes I feel like I am putting on a production all day long. But seeing them grow and the excitement in their eyes everyday makes it all worth it!

My Project

We will be learning and having fun while we read! I can't think of a better way to introduce a new topic than reading a book to my students. We will be using these books to learn about ocean habitats, rain forest habitats, ponds and wetlands habitats, arctic habitats, desert habitats, mammals, bird, reptiles, amphibians, insects, fish and authors like Dr. Seuss.

They will be introduced to the topic we are learning about and then be able to reread the books for their own research.

Books bring the topics to life for students when they are learning. In first grade we are learning to read and reading to learn!
