This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I recently introduced my ELL students to the WHO WAS/ WHO IS books and I saw an instant SPARK and LOVE for reading. My personal library of these books is limited. By donating to my project, you will be providing my students with a variety of Literacy opportunities to enhance their skills and continue the love of reading. My students will continue to learn English in a friendly and accessible way.

My students will be able to have that SPARK, enjoy reading on their level and read about the people that interest them.

Also, contributing to this project will provide me with the opportunity to provide extensions, visual aids, and interactive activities that will provide real-life connections to the people from the books on their level.

I can bring history, knowledge and the LOVE of reading to my students within my ESL classroom. It will aid them in understanding information that they may not have understood along with a feeling of accomplishment. It will also give them an opportunity to share ideas with a partner and practice their speaking and cooperation skills.
