My Project

Helping to put creative filmmaking tools into the hands of my students is one of my greatest priorities. Through the support of our families and community, our film program, and the quality of our students work, has grown substantially these past few years - but we still have far to go. Recently we were able to provide our student filmmakers access to a new Blackmagic camera body; however, the camera still lacks a zoom lens to be able to put it to use.

At the end of the day, students need the right tools to do the job - and the direct impact of professional film production tools on the quality of student production work cannot be understated.

Simply put, a camera without a lens is useless to a photographer. The Canon EF 24-70mm zoom lens features a wide to mid range focal length, perfect for portraits or as all-around lens for shooting narrative film and documentary B-roll. With a maximum aperture of f/2.8, it allows enough light to pass through it to produce properly-illuminated and sharply defined images in even low light conditions. Please help us place this high-quality lens into the hands of our students so they can continue creating 'cinematic' images for their award-winning short films and documentaries.
