My Students
I teach Low- Incidence with 5 amazing children with Exceptional needs. We were blessed this year to have a curriculum. In the past, I have had to pull from items and topics to create my own curriculum to meet the needs of my children. However, our new curriculum is internet based. My kiddos are learning life skills as well as starting academic skills. They are hand-on tactile learners. They explore most everything with their hands or their sight. A few of my kiddos are non-verbal and the other are verbal. They all work together daily to help each other achieve new goals and creative a smooth working environment for each other. They are like their own many family. They spend majority of their day interacting with one another and myself. They do spend time with other peers, and are learning more socials skills by having the mix within my home base classroom. These kiddos truly are exceptional, for they have the largest kind and loving spirit.
My Project
The iPad will provide a true opportunity for my children to learn. The regular computer is beyond their grasp. The iPad is made to be touched and easily assessible for my children. The new up to date iPad will run their new curriculum that meets the children where they are. It will allow for them to gain independence and success.
These iPads will help the children reach new goals and achievements.
Most of them need more help than just at school. So these iPads will be able to travel back and forth to their home. This will allow for the parents and I to work together to help the children. This is a process, so it takes a strong and loving team working together to help our children achieve!
