Exceptional Einsteins!! Special Students = Special Science
My students need an aquarium, critter habitats and posters for interactive life science projects to build knowledge of life cycles, increase social skills and help develop responsibility in our special needs class.
Science lovers... this one is for you! Help our special needs classroom create an atmosphere where everyone is included and has a hands-on opportunity to experience several different life cycles. These projects will develop more than science concepts, they will help teach valuable life skills.
Our students are amazing!
No matter what life outside our school brings them, they know in our school they have a safe place to learn and explore. The students in my classroom have various disabilities including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, autism, language disabilities and many others. We also have an additional of mix of several different cultures including Hispanic, Somali, Burmese, just to name a few. In our school we teach that although we may look differently that we are all important and that color nor disability define who we are.
My Project
By donating to our project you will help our special needs students increase their knowledge about life cycles but in reality, it will do so much more. Students will work together as a team to care for each of these projects. This will help them build key life and social interaction skills. They are also learning how to be responsible and care for living things. These projects will open up opportunities for great discussions both individually and as a class. We are requesting a small aquarium for fish, an ant farm, a butterfly habitat and a frog life cycle terrarium. We have already began by growing root plants, vegetables and flowers, please help us get other live projects in our classroom.
This project will help make learning fun and interactive.
It will breakdown cultural barriers and increase peer acceptance by working as a team for a common goal. We will find jobs for everyone no matter their physical, behavioral or mental challenges.
