Exceptional Children Need Exceptional Toys Growing to an Independent Life

Help me give my students the tools they need to enhance their development, to support their goals, checkpoints, and benchmarks as written in their IEP.

My Project

My students are in the Intensive Support Classroom and what I love about them is the uniqueness they have, from a nonverbal Autistic, nonverbal with Cerebral Palsy, to an intellectually disabled with limited verbal skills Autistic child. I also have students with multiple disabilities and other students are learning disabled with social emotional disorder.

The various items that were chosen and desperately needed will make a major difference with my students and allow them to hit all checkpoints, goals, and benchmarks found on their IEP.

The sensory and fidget toys will support their learning, stimulate cognition, increase verbal responses, allow instructional time move smoothly and intentional, also these items foster self-confidence and a level of independence that otherwise would not be present. These items will promote collaborative learning that support students level of development.

My students are special to me because I see developmental milestones with each of them, we have a bond that is universal, sharing laughter, and the smiles are priceless. My students receive "Granny" love everyday, lots of hugs, wiping away their tears, and celebrating their unique identity, they are nurtured, protected, encouraged, and given 100% of my heart and soul to educate them, to ensure they all have successful outcomes for the future.

My students will use these items in times they may feel overwhelmed, when they think they did not do a good job, or using these items as a part of instructional learning, and most of all, they use these items as a tool to communicate effectively with their peers, our Instructional Assistant, the Behavior Assistance, and myself.
