This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For this project, I am requesting some terracotta warrior excavating kits to go with our study of Ancient China. We are going to learn about Emperor Qin and how he ordered people to build The Great Wall of China along with thousands upon thousands of Terracotta Warriors. They will learn about the belief in the afterworld and that the purpose of the warrior is to have a mighty army in the afterlife. They will learn about how a farmer accidentally stumbled upon one when he was digging a well. From there, the Chinese government dug and found several pits filled with broken Terracotta Warriors. Students are going to pretend to be archeologists and excavate the statues. Then they are going to identify it and write about it.
