I am thankful everyday for the privilege to teach such a diverse group of learners. We come together on a daily basis, learning from one another.
We are a public community school, where parents who once attended are now bringing their own children.
Our students grow up in a unique walking/biking community made up of seven hundred students grades three to five. I have personally had the privilege of teaching numerous siblings and have come to know many families in this tightknit community. This is a wonderful group of learners who are future leaders.
Continual encouragement is imperative, so they can become the best learners they can be. With various backgrounds, they all encompass the need to grow and learn so they can become a competitive, functioning citizen.
My Project
Everyone knows that creativity is at the top of the list for education. Providing opportunities for students to reflect and show what they know through art, is one of my favorite things to do for students.
Art is offered in our building; however, art does not have to be limited to just one class a week.
I have seen so many students who struggle putting into words what they understand from a piece of poetry or history, but can illustrate beautifully. Tapping into all students' gifts and talents is always a priority for me.
