This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at an accredited charter school. My students vary in many ways. I have several students that speak other languages at home and speak English at school. Some of them have never really opened a book before and struggle with basic reading skills and other students are high in their reading abilities. Most of my parents work full time and are unable to help or do much in the classroom.
My goal is to help all my students to become the best they can be and succeed from where ever they have started.
Some of my students may have started in a harder place than others, but I believe every student needs the chance to be the best they can be. Every child needs the chance to be their best and to know someone believes in them.
My Project
Young students learn best when they can get their hands into a project. Math is learned and remembered best if the students get to explore, touch, and learn. Math manipulative will help any student to understand and do their work better. Once they understand they can then retain the information and use it in their life.
Hands-on math will help retain and use the knowledge I am giving to my students.
When a student is struggling in math the best thing that will help them is to get their hands into the math and manipulate the problems, so they do understand.
More than half of students from low‑income households
