My Students
My students are part of a diverse community. They are eager to learn and experience the creative process. They come in to the art room with great anticipation for what they will experience there. They love working with different art materials and take great pride in their accomplishments.
Art gives children the chance to express themselves like no other subject can.
The skills learned in art also transfer to academic subjects, helping our boys and girls to experience a richer, more well-rounded education.
My Project
An organized art classroom leads to a more positive creative experience. In my classroom I have shelf space, but not enough storage bins and containers to organize the art materials and make them easily accessible to my students. I want my students to have a well organized space that allows them the freedoms to create and learn to manage supply usage and responsibilities as well.
An organized classroom fosters independence, pride and ownership in maintaining the space.
The storage bins and containers will allow each class to have direct access to their work in a designated space that they can retrieve as needed. Having easy access to materials helps classroom monitors to quickly distribute materials. Students will gain more responsibility for their work and materials; they will know exactly where things belong.
