Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a special education teacher in an inclusion classroom. This will be my second year working with my students, first in 4th grade and now in fifth. I am looking forward to spending another year with them. They are very bright and hardworking children. They are very thoughtful and polite and love to volunteer to help each other and their teachers. They made so much progress last year and I cannot wait to see how much they grow this year. I know that they are capable of doing great things.
My Project
I currently have 30 students and 10 laptops. This becomes troublesome when trying to complete assignments and when trying to access educational websites because there are not enough for every one to have. Students take turns every day using the laptops and have limited time using them.
We need these laptops so that students can have more time to strengthen their skills.
We use websites like i-Ready and XtraMath to help students become better readers and mathematicians. These laptops will be used to access these websites.
Many of my students do not have access to computers at home and this would really make a difference for them.
