This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 4th graders. Most of my students are enthusiastic and excited to come to school each day. They love new experiences! Many of them do not have their basic needs met before arriving to school each day.
I want my students to want to come to my classroom and to feel a part of the "Class Family." If I can create a space where they feel safe, loved and comfortable to learn, I feel I have done my job!
My Project
I want each of my students to know that their voice should be heard! My students are often timid and shy. They allow the few bold students to do all of the talking. My partner teacher and I want to build confidence in each and every one of our students. We want them to know that what they have to say matters.
We want them to feel like they add value to every lesson.
By using the PEEQ throwable microphone, it is not only engaging and fun, but it lets their voice be heard. It helps them know that we want to know what they have to say! Hopefully this will help academically, socially and emotionally!
