Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at my school are good kids, love life, and have lots of energy. They come from difficult backgrounds, with low income, but they don't let that stop them.
They just need someone to show them they care!
Our school is focused on college, encouraging our students to not give up on their goals. I am always trying different strategies to reach my students, and I am so proud when they persevere and grasp a new or difficult concept.
My Project
I would love to have this carpet so everyone has a spot that is theirs when we sit at the carpet. This time is so valuable, and the carpet would be a great resource. It will not only help lines stay straighter and in the right spot, but will hopefully help my students feel comfortable and welcome in the class, with less squishing or trying to change spots.
A classroom should feel warm and inviting, and I think this rug will help with that.
I can't wait to put this to use and see my reading class, and my homeroom sitting on their colors in their nice straight lines!
