Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a curious and talented group of kindergarteners. Most of the students receive a free or reduced-price lunch and come from low-income neighborhoods. I always try to make our classroom an oasis, a happy and peaceful place that fosters learning and exploration.

It is important for me to provide my students with all of the resources they might not have otherwise since school is often the stepping stone to break the cycle of poverty in families.

I am passionate about what I do and seeing my students learning and growing justifies all of the hard work that I do.

My Project

I am asking for inspirational books about women in math and science, as well as fun and engaging STEM manipulatives! I want my students to know that math and science are FUN and for everyone. I want to read engaging stories about inspirational women of color in math and science, followed by fun STEM activities.

I love math and I want to spread that joy to my students.

It is important that they understand that STEM is for everyone and they can enjoy learning about math and science. I am asking for several books of women in STEM, counting cubes, individual ten frames, and a teachers pay teachers gift card so I can purchase engaging and interactive at home activities for the computer.
