This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the honor of working with some very sweet exceptional education students. Our school is in a low income area, but you would never know that by talking to them. They want to learn and thrive with their education. While exceptional education is a priority, it is one of the most expensive interventions in public schools. We need all the help we can get with supplying our students with the tools they need.

These kids have the biggest hearts and the biggest desire to learn of other students their age.

Helping to provide them with a safe place to learn is my number one goal. Providing them with the tools they need to learn is my number two. If you feel compelled to help please know your gift will go a long way.

My Project

In the area of exceptional education it is very important to be flexible. Flexible seating is ideal for those students who are constantly moving. The majority of my students struggle to sit in a standard chair for any length of time without something to keep them focused. Sensory items and boogie boards also encourage the students to put their focus on their work rather than their constant need move. Lastly an iPad helps the students to be independent in their learning and and it is an amazing resource to learn their sight words and sounds!

The students are in constant need for movement and sensory output which comes from wiggle stools, boogie boards, sensory items and an iPad.

By being able to sit and move freely along with using hands on items, the students will be able to set their minds on their tasks!
