This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My pre-k students are fun-loving learners who benefit from active play each day. When my students enter the schoolyard during recess they are often drawn to the basketball hoops which are designed for the older students in our school. Students make several attempts to shoot the ball into the basket to no avail, leading them to feel frustrated. This project will provide our students with the opportunity to play basketball and be successful at it.

The 3 basketball hoops allow small groups of young children to play together, encourage active play and social interaction, enhance team spirit and help kids build self-esteem and confidence.The large hoops and children's size basketballs will ensure easy scoring, help kids develop hand-eye coordination, and stimulate children's sports ability and exercise potential.

If this project is funded plan on organizing a family basketball game where parents will be invited to play basketball with our students. This will be a great opportunity to continue strengthening family engagement and build a long lasting memorable experience for my students.
