My Project
In my 7th grade English Language Arts classroom, every student deserves to see themselves reflected in the books they read—and to see into the lives of others who are different from them. Representation matters. That’s why I’m building a classroom library that better reflects the rich diversity of my students and the world around them.
With your help, I want to expand our shelves to include stories by and about Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, and other marginalized voices.
These books will highlight authors of color, protagonists from underrepresented backgrounds, and themes around racial justice, identity, and equity.
By bringing in more diverse voices, we are fostering a more inclusive, thoughtful, and just learning environment.
