This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love going to work everyday to see those bright smiles. Knowing that my students love coming to school and learning makes going to work worth my while. When speaking to parents at conferences, some of them stated that their students love going to school. Some parents also stated that they are sad when they have to stay home due to illness, etc. I enjoy watching students grow from not knowing how to hold a pencil at the beginning of the year to knowing how to read by the end of the year. The excitement on their faces when they learn how to read and the confidence it builds within them warms my heart.

My students are adventurous and when they come to school they can be themselves and show their unique capabilities.

They are appreciated and encouraged to grow. It is a true fact that my students are determined to learn and they love to welcome others in our classroom. They also love to help one another, and they especially love to help their teacher. I am so blessed to have this group of students in my class and I look forward to continuing to help them grow.

My Project

I like to show learning videos in class that students can sing along with. We do a lot of letter and sound songs. The speaker will be a great asset to this project so that students can clearly hear the sounds and songs. This also encourages and motivates students to learn. The alphabet tubs will be used for students to be able to sort different items into the tubs that have the initial sounds of the items. School should always be a happy place and having tangible items to assist with learning creates space for learning to be fun. When students are having fun, they are happy!
