My Project
As an ELA teacher, I strive to pass on my love of reading to each and every one of my students. In order to do this, my students participate in monthly literacy circles. They choose which book from a selection of about 20 that they would like to read. Then they go on to lead discussions, think critically, and produce creative projects all centered in their story with 3-4 other students. My kids deserve to have books that are both exciting and engaging as well as representative of who they are. I teach a very diverse group with students of many different cultures and identities. Donating to this project would allow students to read newer stories in their circles that are representative of who they are.
