This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are thoughtful, creative, and full of curiosity about themselves and the world around them! They come from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, and one thing they all share is the desire to be seen and understood.
In our classroom, we're working hard to build a community where every child feels proud of who they are.
This project will help us do just that, by providing materials that reflect the many shades of our identities and spark important conversations about race, equity, and representation.
Your contribution will help us purchase skin tone paints for inclusive self-portraits and "All About Me" craft supplies, including diverse face cutouts and blank person-shaped puzzles. These materials will be used in activities that honor each child’s unique identity, foster empathy and understanding, and open up important conversations.
