Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our diverse school community, students come from many racial, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds. Many are English Language Learners and children of immigrants who deserve to see their identities reflected and celebrated in the classroom. This project will support an art unit focused on self-portraits and personal storytelling, where students explore and express their unique identities through visual art.
We are requesting inclusive art supplies like Bees Wax Crayons,that offer a wide range of realistic skin tones and rich colors.
These tools will allow students to represent themselves accurately and proudly in their work—something often missing in traditional classroom materials. This project promotes racial justice by affirming every student’s identity and creating space for conversations about representation, belonging, and pride in who they are.
