it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As I embark on the new school year and a new grade level, after being out of the classroom for six years, I look forward to supporting their needs through my continued professional growth and dedication to meeting the individual needs of my students.
My new first graders are creative, inquisitive, happy, and so excited to learn.
As students at a visual and performing arts TK-6th grade elementary school, I'm constantly looking to find ways for them to express themselves and be true to who they are throughout the day. I also strive to honor the whole child in my daily practices as an educator and meet all their needs, from artistic and academic, to physical and social emotional.
My Project
Flexible and active seating allows students to move, collaborate and build community by having voice and choice in how they learn and engage in the environment and with their classmates.
My students are much more engaged in the learning process when they have the opportunity to explore and engage in different ways of learning based on their daily needs.
The items I have chosen will provide them an array of choices, from being comfortable in a beanbag as they grow their love of reading, to the wobble chairs that will allow my more active students to move while learning. These items will also allow them the autonomy and variety of seating and environments to best meet their needs.
I have seen how voice and choice can positively impact and empower students and engage them in the learning process at a much higher level!
