My students need LittleBits kits to integrate science and technology skills with artistic and creative projects so that they are more engaged in their learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Never give up, never surrender!" As you enter the library you hear little voices chanting our motto as they work together to try to solve or improve their projects. Kids come to the library during their recess or afterschool time to solve different STEAM challenges.
My students are fourth and fifth graders, 10 and 11 year-olds who live in the South Bronx, one of the poorest districts in the United States.
They are smart and creative, but unfortunately lack the means to learn through hands-on experience, especially STEAM related topics such as electronics, computer programing and circuitry.
My Project
LittleBits provides an easy way to start experimenting with all kinds of projects, and also helps connect real world components to the cloud instantly.
This award-winning platform of easy-to-use electronic building blocks empowers kids to invent anything, from their own remote controlled car, to a smart home device.
The Bits snap together with magnets which eliminates the need to solder, wire or program.
LittleBits are built to facilitate creative problem-solving, combining electronic building blocks with approachable drag-and-drop block programming. In other words, they make complex technology simple and fun.
Using LittleBits and the engineering design process, my students will create unique inventions to solve a design challenge.
