My Students

I work as a special educator in a suburban district outside of Boston. In my 5th grade resource room classes, you can see kids challenge each other, collaborate with each other, and work together towards their common goal of improving their cognition, literacy, and understanding of the world.

My 5th grade students are some of the most resilient, funny, kind, and hard working kids I have ever met.

Within any classroom, there is an abundance of different learning styles and experiences that make my students truly unique. It is these differences that bring about some of the richest learning experiences in the classroom.

My Project

The supplies that I am requesting for my students will go to ensure that every student has headphones that they can access in classes. This will ensure every student is able to access the work equally.

Currently, the classes I support require students to work on their laptops, but there are many students that still don't have access to headphones.

Whether their old headphones broke, they cannot afford them, or maybe they just forget them, the result is still the same: they are unable to fully access the curriculum from their laptops, and cannot fully participate.
