My Students

The students at our school are constantly working toward being stewards of our watershed, empowered decision makers, historians and conscientious community members. We are located in south-central Montana, just north of Yellowstone National Park. We are an active, artsy, outdoorsy and environmentally aware community. Being engaged with our "backyard" keeps us connected to our community.

Our daily goal is to explore learning through personal experience.

My Project

Providing learners with access to high quality, engaging reading material on potentially controversial and political topics is one of my goals as a librarian. Learners need books that explicitly address diversity and inclusion. The 50 titles chosen here have been hand selected to address complex topics such as racism, activism, voting rights, and democracy.

Every human has rights and every learner needs to have access to materials that encourage exploring these rights.

As librarian I am not afraid to offer materials and have discussions about personal choice. I am an advocate for finding perspectives and choosing which ones we follow with our own beliefs.
