My Students

Our class is a group of diverse learners from various backgrounds. When we teach them, we think of them as a whole person and work our best to meet all of their social-emotional, behavioral, communicative, and academic needs.

My students are part of an inclusive community.

This means that within each classroom, there are students who are working below, at, and above grade level, as well as students who have mild to moderate disabilities and a variety of sensory needs. All students are included in the classroom community all day and are not pulled out to receive services.

My Project

We are very excited to have a wider variety of seating options in our classroom! As we all know, everyone is different. We all learn differently and what is best for one student may not be the best for another. One size does not fit all. So then why do we expect all students to sit in the same type of chair all day?

Our goal is to create an environment that meets our students' sensory needs in order for them to achieve to their greatest potential.

With the option of being able to stand at a raised desk, sit on a wiggle stool, or bounce on a ball chair, students will be able to give their bodies what they need as they work on their assignments!
