Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom is made up of 15 sweet preschoolers. They are the youngest members of the school, with a drive to learn and explore everything! The children in our school reside in the inner city and are from many different countries and backgrounds. Most of my students come from low-income families, and Pre-K is usually their first school experience. They are interested in learning anything new in science, math, engineering, reading, and art.
My classroom is in desperate need of a new easel and art supplies.
We have an old easel that accommodates only 2 students and is difficult for the children to reach and set up new paper. A new appropriately sized easel would give 4 students the opportunity to paint at once, and would be small enough to encourage the children to set up their own art stations. Pre-K enjoys creating art so our art supplies dwindles down quickly. The requested Kwik sticks would be a sensory friendly paint alternative, that will also help us a build a more inclusive classroom. These materials will have a strong impact in helping my tiny artists develop and strengthen their gross and fine motor skills while nurturing their creativity in class.
Teachers often want to do so much more than what is sometimes possible with our current budget restrictions. Thank you for considering donating to our classroom. It will not only enrich the hands on learning for this class, but will also reach the many students who have yet to pass through the classroom in the years to come.
