This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My preschool students are children who are three to five years of age. My school is in sunny California where children come to school each morning ready to learn and grow! There's never a dull moment in our class. My students are busy bees moving from one interest area to another. They're eager to learn, explore, engage and experiment with the instructional materials and centers I set up for them. My students need instructional materials to engage with to foster their interest in technology, literacy, math, science, art and engineering. They also, need instructional materials to support their social and emotional learning, to help them grow into well rounded individuals. Every single one of my students deserves a fair chance at having his or her potential nurtured and fully developed. My little ones have an insatiable curiosity, that's why it's important for me to have a class with a variety of instructional materials to meet their educational needs.
My Project
Every child deserves to have the most essential things in life, like food, a home, clothes and love. Yet there are children who lack these basic essentials due to life's circumstances. My student needs the warm jacket, socks, boots and sweater to keep warm during the cold Fall and Winter mornings and evenings. These clothes will support my student's emotional well being and provide her with the warm clothes she needs during the cold seasons to focus in school and to learn and grow. It will also, help prevent her from catching a cold and have to miss school due to an illness. These clothing items will help my student know that people care about her needs and are doing everything they can to provide them to her.
