My Students
My students are amazing people who come from a low income housing project. The students in my class love coming to school where they are safe, fed, cared for and taught by someone who really cares about them.
I teach math to grades 5/6 and I enjoy helping them learn to love math and not be intimated by it.
My Project
We are an AVID school. AVID means Advancement Via Individual Determination. We teach our students that every child can go to college no matter where they come from. Part of being a successful student is to be organized and have your supplies in your binder.
We need to provide our students with these supplies because they come from a low income housing project and they can't afford to buy the supplies we need.
Providing these students with these tools will help them become successful and organized and ready for their school day.
