My Project
We need books! As a Reading Intervention teacher, I want to motivate my students to read as many books as possible. During the COVID-19 pandemic, students fell behind academically, especially in learning how to read. Now that we are back in the classrooms, I am making it my mission to get ALL students back to reading at their grade level.
I believe in making Every Child a Reader, students need to:
1. Read EVERY DAY! I want to provide my students with a good selection of books in my classroom.
2. Read at their correct reading level. If it's too hard, they will get frustrated and quit. If it's too easy, they will get bored with it.
3. Students need to enjoy what they are reading. When they want a book, they will often reread it! Rereading can build reading fluency and reading comprehension.
I hope to make Every Child a Reader!
