This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello! In September I will be entering my ninth year as a teacher at P.S.169, a Title 1 school in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Sunset Park is an ever expanding neighborhood, and therefore P.S.169 is an ever expanding school. In September, I will be teaching third grade and moving my classroom to the former music room (we need the space!) Due to the fact that the music room never held books, I have no appropriate shelves for my classroom library. The classroom library should be extensive, with room for various genres of books, as well as low to the ground so that it is easily accessible to the children.
Office Depot has shelves that are the perfect height for the children. I would need seven of these shelves in order to have room to house all my books. These shelves would help create a wonderfully organized, accessible and inviting classroom library.
Thank you for your consideration!
