Lights! Camera! Action! That's what many of my students strive to hear one day.
I teach fourth grade children who have been identified as gifted in an urban school system in Alabama.
These children come from fourteen different area schools, a majority being Title I schools. I see a different group daily for four hours. During this limited time I try to give them the opportunity to learn what they would not be able to experience in their regular classroom. There is no funding for gifted education materials. We have no money for any type of supplies or enrichment so I depend on donors such as those who support Donorschoose.org.
My Project
My students are learning about Shakespeare and his many works. Part of this, is acting out the plays and sonnets. A Flip Video Ultra Camcorder will make it possible for us to record our actions and voice and critique it for ways to improve our performances.
My students and I would love to be able to record our Shakespeare acts and then critique what they have performed.
Can you imagine a group of third and fourth graders performing "A Midsummer Night's Dream" or perhaps "The Tempest?" If you choose to support my project, you will help make this a reality in the lives of my students. By funding this project, you will make it possible for my students to have a resource that would not normally be available to them.
