Even Creative Minds Need Good Organization!

My Project

This year, we are incredibly lucky that our middle school expanded to two art classrooms and two art teachers to support the arts education of our students. We now offer an expanded art program that includes art for all of our 6th grade students in addition to art electives already offered to our 7th and 8th grade students and an art club. But while we have plenty of consumable supplies, tables, and chairs, there are some things that we've split from one to two rooms that we really need two sets of: enter a new set of project drying racks!

These two new drying racks will allow us to organize classroom procedures more efficiently when we are working with paint and glue, so we spend more time creating and learning and less time worrying about where art is going to go.

It will let myself and the other art teacher in the building spend more time giving constructive feedback and preparing new and exciting ways to bring art to our students, and less time pulling work off of the drying racks in between classes to make space for the next class - and hoping it had time to dry.

We know that good procedures are the first step towards creating a good learning environment for our students, and having the right equipment is part of being able to establish and maintain strong, effective procedures. This will have a direct effect on student independence and ownership of their spaces in the classroom.
