My Project
My school district has adopted a new math curriculum. This curriculum is fun, engaging, and user friendly. However, for engagement to be successful the way Eureka Squared intended, it requires certain supplies and manipulatives that I do not have in my classroom. These supplies are listed in the curriculum's required items for the first module.
Math is so much easier when you have the manipulatives that are needed to support your learning.
Module 1 is our introduction to multiplication and division. So many areas of math can be abstract. It is with manipulatives, such as a rekenrek, that can make it more concrete for students. Students can create equal groups, as well as use distributive property on a rekenrek. The scissors are needed to cut out materials used during the lesson, place value discs help students understand place value, and the rulers are used when students learn to draw their arrays for multiplication.
Please help my students fully utilize their Module 1 new math curriculum to its full potential by aiding them with a few basic supplies that will help them create and manipulate math concepts!
