This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at our school are very sweet and come from very diverse homes. Our classroom is a safe place to be a learner. Our students love to create, build, learn, share, grow and so much more. They have such inquiring minds and come to school with few, or very different experiences. The dynamic of our TK classroom is very special. We have a combination of special needs students, as well as general education students. They will be exposed at such a young age to breaking barriers and making friendships with peers that are not quite like them. It will be my 1st year teaching ETK and I am determined to make it the absolute best!

My Project

This project is focused on flexible seating and making sure our classroom is comfortable for all students. The little couch will be used in the library area for independent reading. The little seats will be used at the kidney tables for small group activities and for students who do not prefer to sit on the rug during circle time. Handled floor cushions will be used to carry around the room so kids can find the perfect spot to learn and explore.

Movement is so important for little ones so we need to offer them choice in seating.

My hopes are that these options will keep them motivated and excited for their next station.
