This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at our school are very sweet and come from very diverse homes. Our classroom is a safe place to be a learner. Our students love to create, build, learn, share, grow and so much more. They have such inquiring minds and come to school with few, or very different experiences. The dynamic of our TK classroom is very special. We have a combination of special needs students, as well as general education students. They will be exposed at such a young age to breaking barriers and making friendships with peers that are not quite like them. It will be my 1st year teaching ETK and I am determined to make it the absolute best!

My Project

The materials in this project with enhance student learning and interaction with peers. For many of our learners, this will be the 1st time they are in a school setting and my goal is to make it as welcoming and fun, as possible. We know that our kids learn so much through play and many of them have different experiences growing up.

My goal is to give all my students opportunities they may never get outside of the classroom.

I want them all to be confident and brave in their learning. I want to instill the value of peer interaction, exploration and, of course, learning!

The Scholastic readers are the perfect way to extend learning at home. They can share what they learn with their families and we can add technology into the classroom because all of these magazines are available in digital form.
