Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from diverse backgrounds that make our team strong, caring, and hardworking. Our school is located at UCSD and serves 100% first-generation college students. All of our students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. They work extremely hard to be the first in their families to go to college. It is an honor to be able to teach them Ethnic Studies this year. They will be the first class to have exposure to Ethnic Studies at our school and we hope to provide them as many perspectives as possible.
My Project
This year, my colleague and I, are launching Ethnic Studies at our school. With a new curriculum, we are in need of extra books to complete our class sets. We hope to fully integrate all of these books into our curriculum and provide various perspectives to our students. Our students come from low-income families and cannot always afford their own books. By purchasing one of these books, you are helping to ensure that we will have enough copies for all students to use in class
These books will serve generations of students to come and we thank you for all of the support!
