Essentials in a Box

My students need healthy fruit cups, apple sauce, crackers to fill empty bellies after school and snack time. Wipes and toothbrushes and toothpaste for those without. Pencil boxes filled with supplies to use at home.

My Students

My students are critical thinkers who want more! Many students have had limited exposure to persevering through problem-solving and working together. They need support to thrive. They are willing to reflect, ask questions, and make mistakes.

These avid investigators are learning how to navigate the world they were given.

Every day, these students show that learning, despite challenges, is possible. They may not have made their goals yet, but they continue to amaze me with their willingness to keep moving forward.

My Project

Essentials in a Box is about supporting students at home where they may not have what is needed, food to eat and materials for homework. The pencil boxes will be filled with toothpaste and toothbrushes along with face wipes so students can clean their hands and face. Coming to school clean and ready builds confidence in those who may not have means to do so. For those in need, the box will be filled with a healthy snack along with a pencil and crayons to complete homework. The essentials will help students not worry about what they don't have but provide comfort in a box.
