This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Teaching in a small urban city, my students have not had the privilege to explore the world. My overall hope is that many of my students grow up knowing there is much more of this world other than the small city we live in. My students are in Transitional Kinder and Kindergarten! My students have Autism and need multi-modal ways of communicating as well as learning. During distance learning they need to continue to learn and practice their writing skills. Utilizing these writing journals, my students will not only learn to expand their learning but it will help parents keep a portfolio of all their kindergarten writing for the future. I teach in an urban, Title I school and funding for materials is not available in our classroom as well as at home.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are essential for my students who do not have the privilege of having these everyday classroom items in their home. We just need your help in making sure our students get the supplies they need and deserve to complete daily synchronous and asynchronous work! The paper, staplers, crayons, and other supplies of the sort will be used by the students, so that they may create books, art projects as well as writing samples. All of my students are in basic need of daily materials that they do not have. This material filled backpack as well as writing journals will help develop my students writing abilities. Many of my students cannot afford to purchase these materials and this would be extremely beneficial to them.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' writing development!
Utilizing Writer's Workshop model, my students will begin to see themselves as true authors and illustrators as well as provide them with a writing portfolio keepsake. They will use these materials to aide them in the process of becoming life-long writers. I truly need your support to make this a reality for my students. Thank you for your support!
