This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class comes from all parts of the city. They are second language learners and have learning disabilities. They are eager to learn and very funny. They come prepared and are excited for school. They have their moments, however, with proper support and guidance, they find success throughout the day. They do not give up and they try to learn in many different ways.

My Project

We will be continuing distance learning this Fall and I would like to provide each of my students with essential supplies to be used when we do remote learning. In Science class we do a lot of drawing and diagrams, and notebooks and colored pencils would be very helpful, with enhanced instruction. During the past few months I have asked students to create projects at home and they struggled because they did not have supplies. I would like to make their learning and success attainable by providing these necessary materials.
