Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All my students come from Spanish-speaking families, I teach them in Spanish while building their English vocabulary and fluency. The majority of my students come from immigrant families. The neighborhood is mostly Latino and with very close-knit, caring, hard-working families. The school is a Title I school and 100% of the students qualify for free lunches.

I enjoy working there and have worked in the same school for many years.

I get students who are in college and come to visit and are always grateful that I was their teacher.

My Project

I am requesting face masks. I would like disposable ones for when they forget theirs at home or they break or lose them. I’d like clear masks so that I can see their mouths when they talk. Lanyards keep their masks from getting lost and keep them of the floor when they drink or eat.

Reusable water bottles for my thirsty kindergartners will keep them hydrated and away from water fountains and from using disposable bottles.

Whiteboard dry erase markers and erasers to practice writing.

The two tone chips and number grids are for math activities.
