Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach an Explicit Social Emotional Learning classroom with students in grades 3rd - 5th. My class has grown throughout the year and we are in need of more supplies to accommodate new students. We have also needed some more flexible seating choices, as it has become very popular in our classroom!
My students have diverse needs and giving them different break options, seating arrangements, and allowing them to earn rewards for positive behavior will help them flourish at school.
My students are all so unique and use different modes of learning and sensory supports in order to be successful in the classroom.
We are also running short on supplies and equipment such as dry erase markers, coins for their token system, headphones for their computers, noise canceling headphones, and prizes for the "Rainbow Box". I wanted to provide my students with some more sensory items such as iSpy books to increase options during much needed break times. I know that these supplies will help us keep the shipping running smoothly and allow my students' needs to be met in a positive way.
