This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a great group of elementary school kids! My students are hard workers who come to school every day ready to learn. They have the reading disability dyslexia and have to compensate for it by working even harder at school.

My dyslexia students miss out on their fun intervention period to come to dyslexia every day so I want to be able to reward them for their hard work.

We are not on the beginning of the year materials list so we are always in need of Kleenex tissues and pencils. The treasure box is the reward system we use as an incentive to keep our kids positive and happy to learn the strategies they need to become great readers even with a learning disability. We want to stock their depleted treasure box with spinning tops, sticky hands, foam dice and light up rings. We are a Title I school so these simple rewards will be much appreciated by our students.

This project will help motivate our hard-working students to continue to come to dyslexia class and become successful readers.
