it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All students are special and deserve a good education!
The unique group of students that I am serving are in great need, in high poverty, but eager to learn.
They struggle every day trying to overcome and receive their basic needs. They live in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the city and state. They are funny, sweet, and hopeful. These students are unfortunately at-risk due to the high crime, poverty, homelessness, unemployment, poor health, poor fitness, and poor nutrition, patiently waiting for them outside of the school gates. They need extra attention and nurturing. They need you.
My students come from many countries, so they are also learning the English language and customs of this wonderful country.
My Project
All my students need the basic school supplies to make learning hands-on, organized, interesting, and engaging.
My students need pencils, erasers, folders, poster boards, binders and other supplies to use at school during the reading-language arts block and home to improve their reading and language skills to be academically successful in school.
My students need colored pencils, crayones, and glue sticks to use at school for literacy centers. Students can practice reading and language arts skills by completing activities at their own level and have fun with their classmates at the same time.
